We believe behaving ethically and operating with integrity are both the right thing to do and critical to our continued business success.
That is why strong governance is core to how we do business at SSP and sits at the centre of our Sustainability Strategy. To help ensure accountability for this strategy, we have a clearly defined governance and management structure from the Board level to each of our markets.
"We’re not just achieving quick wins; we’re deeply embedding sustainability into our operations, customer propositions and client engagements. This approach is helping us manage risks more effectively while also delivering commercial benefits in the short and medium term."
Mike Clasper, Chair of SSP Group plc
Our focus areas
Ensuring accountability
To achieve our ambitious Sustainability Strategy, we have established clear responsibilities and accountability across our business. Our governance and management structure identifies clear roles, responsibilities and accountability at all levels of the organisation.
Building our sustainability expertise globally
We are developing a global workforce equipped with the knowledge, skills, passion and operational responsibilities necessary to help us deliver our Sustainability Strategy, targets and net-zero ambition.
Understanding what matters most to our stakeholders
Listening to our stakeholders helps us better understand their views and concerns while enabling us to respond to them appropriately. We engage with a wide range of our stakeholders at local, regional, global and Board levels.
Business ethics and standards
We are committed to applying high standards of business ethics and to operating with honesty, integrity and transparency. Our global policies form the backbone of our approach. Our Group companies are expected to adhere to these policies within the context of local regulation and market practice.
Transparent reporting and disclosures
We are committed to providing our stakeholders with clear, consistent and comparable sustainability disclosures. We consider and report on sustainability disclosures with reference to, or in line with, key global reporting frameworks. The locations of all relevant disclosures are detailed in our Sustainability Data Book 2024.

Our 2023 Sustainability Report is now live
We published our first stand-alone Sustainability Report last year, setting out our strategy and commitments - centred around Product, Planet and People - and how we planned to get there.
Now, we have published our 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting how we're delivering on those plans and commitments, including detailed information on our 2023 progress.
This year, we have also published a Sustainability Data Book for comprehensive details of our yearly data performance, scope and definitions, as well as our reporting indices for GRI, SASB and TCFD.
We published our first Sustainability Report
2022 saw us embed our new Sustainability Strategy right across the business and make strong progress against our targets.
As part of our commitment to transparency, we have developed our very first Sustainability Report, which we published in January 2023. This provides detailed information on our 2022 progress and future plans, and is aligned to best practice reporting frameworks – the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standard and Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Restaurants Standard.
And we are just at the beginning of our sustainability journey. There are many challenges ahead but, by working in collaboration with our suppliers, clients and brand partners, we believe we can drive positive change across the food travel sector.
