Our Sustainability Strategy
Driving positive change within SSP and across the food travel sector
Sustainability is a key strategic priority for SSP. Touching every aspect of our overall Group strategy, it is central to our purpose to be the best part of the journey and to our strategic priorities to deliver a leading customer proposition, develop skilled and engaged colleagues and generate long-term growth and returns.
We refreshed our Sustainability Strategy in 2021, backed by clear commitments and targets, and have now rolled it out across our operations worldwide. We have seen a wave of momentum in 2023 as we accelerate efforts to deliver this ambitious agenda and are starting to see the realisation of all our groundwork in delivering tangible progress against our targets.

Empowering our chefs with Klimato in the UAE
In 2023, we began our partnership with Klimato, a leading provider for calculating the carbon footprint of recipes, in the UAE to evaluate the climate impact of our recipes.
We conducted a two-month pilot of carbon labelling on the menus of our Ritazza and Camden Food Co. brands at Abu Dhabi International Airport, UAE. We added carbon labels and QR codes to our menus and in-store messaging to help educate and guide our customers toward climate-smart choices. We are now using the insights gained about how labelling influences customer behaviour to inform our strategy going forward.
