We also create bespoke concepts, tailored to specific travel hubs.

Founded in 1954, the Burger King brand is the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world. The original home of the Whopper, the Burger King system operates more than 17,800 locations in more than 100 countries and U.S. territories. Almost 100 percent of Burger King restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees.
Burger King restaurants are known for serving high-quality, great-tasting, and affordable food, and a commitment to premium ingredients, signature recipes, and family-friendly dining experiences is what has defined the brand for more than 50 successful years.
SSP Spain was the first company in the travel retail channel to open a Burger King restaurant at a Spanish airport. After more than 20 years of operating the brand, it remains the company with the most Burger King units at Spanish airports, with 13 outlets.
In April 2019, SSP Spain refreshed one of its most prestigious premises, Burger King at Malaga Airport. Located on the second floor of the food court, the new Burger King includes self-order kiosks, a directional video wall, improved seating space and a state-of-the-art kitchen.SSP has also recently relaunched its Burger King sites at Palma de Mallorca Airport, Alicante-Elche Airport and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport.
Identical twins Javier and Sergio Torres, better known as the Hermanos Torres (Torres Brothers), are Michelin-starred Spanish chefs known for their innovative twist on classic Spanish dishes.
Working in partnership with the famous chefs, SSP created the Alas (“Wings”) concept at Barcelona-El Prat Airport’s Terminal 1. All the dishes on the menu are co-created with the brothers. The food is innovative and of exceptional quality, freshly prepared in the unit by chefs in open kitchens, and the décor is equally as eye-catching and inventive.
SSP Spain has also developed a new grab-and-go concept with the Hermanos Torres. Named Slam, it offers fresh and healthy food made with wholesome ingredients.
Catalan businessman Enrique Tomás began his business with a mission to offer fine quality Iberian hams and sausages to a discerning public. His brand currently incorporates three concepts – a retail store, a tasting bar and a premium bar concept called Origins. It can be found at 81 locations across the world including at Madrid and Barcelona Airports.
SSP opened two Enrique Tomás stores in 2019. The first was launched in Terminal 2 of Barcelona-El Prat Airport, offering the brand’s signature Iberian ham alongside a complementary range of breakfasts, sandwiches, hamburgers and salads. The second Enrique Tomás store was opened shortly afterwards at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport.
Located in central Barcelona, La Tramoia tapas bar and restaurant is an authentic brasserie celebrating the finest Mediterranean gastronomy. When Barcelona-El Prat Airport invited SSP to bring the best of the Barcelona high street to life at its terminals, we felt the cuisine and design of La Tramoia met this brief perfectly and we worked closely with the brand’s team to open its first ever franchise restaurant.
La Tramoia translates as ‘fly system’ – which is the ropes and pulleys used in a theatrical production. The design of the unit, with its hanging lighting and theatrical spotlights suspended from canopies, captures this perfectly, and creates an intimate atmosphere for the seating area. The counter area is decked in stunning Spanish tiles, reminiscent of the striking tapas bar of its original namesake restaurant.
The menu also reflects the fantastic food heritage of Barcelona, with a distinctly Catalan-inspired menu. There is a range of cold tapas and sandwiches served from the counter, as well as an extensive hot plate tapas menu with key dishes including butifarra and embutidos, as well as cured Spanish pork products such as salchichón and chorizo.
Tim Hortons is a fast food restaurant chain specialising in coffee and donuts. It is Canada’s largest quick service restaurant chain, with more than 4,800 sites in 14 countries.
Together with the brand, SSP has opened the first Tim Hortons in the travel channel at Alicante Train Station and is set to open a second unit at Alicante Airport.
The Mama Campo brand was launched in 2014 as a table service restaurant, with an emphasis on high-quality food and beverages with strong local provenance and a focus on healthy eating. The brand quickly grew in popularity, gaining an impressive following, including a number of famous patrons such as the King and Queen of Spain. Following its high street success, the Mama Campo brand diversified, entering into food retail and organic catering.
SSP opened its first Mama Campo unit in January 2019 in Terminal 4 at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport, the busiest airport in Spain by passenger numbers and the fifth busiest in all of Europe. This was the first time the brand entered into the airport environment, and we have skilfully adapted the menu to create a grab-and-go offering focused on speed of service, while maintaining high quality.
Our Mama Campo grab-and-go unit follows the same ethos of the original restaurant – everything is lovingly made with certified organic ingredients, which come directly from local farmers, cattlemen and producers who are committed to high standards and environmental sustainability. We ensure the menu focuses on fresh foods and healthier options.
