Düsseldorf Airport is the third largest airport in Germany and a hub for Germany’s biggest county, North Rhine-Westphalia, to more than 50 countries worldwide to 200 different destinations. SSP operates 11 food and beverage units, including a modern conference centre “DUSconference plus” offering board rooms and large conference rooms for up to 320 guests. Guests can experience the culinary expertise of two TV chefs, Jamie Oliver at Jamie’s Deli and Tim Mälzer at Hausmann’s together with his partner Patrick Rüther, whose SSP units can be found airside. Leading regional, national and international brands at the airport include Bazzar Caffè, Kamps, L’Osteria as well as KFC.
Frankfurt Airport is the largest airport in Germany and the fourth biggest in Europe. As one of the leading worldwide hubs, Frankfurt Airport is also the home base of airline Lufthansa. The SSP DACH HQ is situated close to the airport in the nearby Squaire building. SSP operates 16 units at Frankfurt Airport, one unit at Terminal 2 and 15 at Terminal 1. Nine units are situated airside and seven are landside. The concepts range from three Starbucks units to numerous bakery outlets (such as Backwerk, Heberer and Kamps), to contemporary casual dining restaurant Lucullus Nero in the Non-Schengen area.
Vienna International Airport is the largest airport in Austria and the home base of Austrian Airlines. Passengers use Vienna International Airport each year to reach more than 70 countries worldwide with 205 different destinations via 70 airlines. SSP operates 13 units at Vienna International Airport, and ten of these are located airside in Terminal 3. The concepts vary from three Jamie Oliver units, the so called “JOW” (Jamie Oliver World) including a Jamie’s Italian Restaurant airside and a solid mix of regional brands like Leberkas-Pepi and international brands such as Starbucks, dean&david and Brezelkönig. Bespoke brands like Bierbar-Oida! and Café Franzl reflect a local sense of place.
The biggest Swiss Airport is rated as one of the best ten airports worldwide, according to Skytrax. At Zurich Airport, SSP operates 16 units in the airside area, all end gate bars as well as the full-service restaurant Sports Bar with its unique outdoor terrace. The famous meeting point NZZ Café is also part of SSP’s portfolio – a unique Café/Bar unit where guests can use the exclusive digital content of NZZ newspaper. Further units are international brands such as Burger King and Starbucks and a variety of bespoke brands reflecting Swissness and the special Zürich flavour and sense of place. The British brand Pret A Manger (“Pret”) is the latest addition to the site. SSP opened four Pret-stores at Zurich Airport and celebrated the brand’s entry into the Swiss food travel market.
Düsseldorf Central Station belongs to the top 10 rail stations in Germany and is used by more than 95 million commuters and travelers per year. SSP operates 11 units at Düsseldorf Central Station. Guests can choose between bakery units such as Kamps, Brezelbub and BackWerk as well as eat-in units like the trendy french fries manufacture Frittenwerk or healthy quick-service units dean&david and Ida& Frida. SSP also operates a small Edeka-branded supermarket.
Hamburg Central Station is the busiest rail station in Germany. SSP operates 10 units in Hamburg Central Station, offering its guests a huge variety of F&B offers from Burger King to quick service concepts such as Spar Express convenience stores. SSP also operates two Starbucks stores at the Hamburg station, one in the historic part of the train station with a generous outdoor terrace and an indoor seating area.
