SSP airport restaurants named ‘three of the best’ by CNN

Three of SSP’s restaurants have been named by CNN among its pick of restaurants that are’ raising the bar’ in airport dining. In a feature on how a new wave of airport restaurants is elevating airport cuisine, Hung’s Delicacies at Hong Kong, Lamoraga at Malaga and Geneva’s Altitude restaurant all made the list of the six finest.

The article, titled ‘airport dining doesn’t have to be terminal’, outlines how ‘celebrity chefs and regional food heroes’ are bringing ‘their magic to the one-time culinary wasteland of the airport’. It explains that some, including Lamoraga and Hung’s, have ‘become magnets for non-travelling locals’, and have ‘achieved the unthinkable by turning the airport into a foodie destination’. The offerings of their many Michelin-starred chefs ‘rate alongside the finest restaurants in their cities’.

The media group goes on to describe Lamoraga as a ‘stylish gastrobar serving contemporary tapas’, and it is equally impressed by Altitude, where it says ‘fine dining and fantastic views combine’. The history of Hung’s, which evolved from a ‘humble street-side bistro’ which ‘soon earned a sizzling reputation on the city’s food scene for its distinctive dishes, cooked in a secret marinade’ is also chronicled.

There is, it states, a broader recognition that many travelers are looking for ‘something more substantial than simply filling a whole in their stomachs’, and, as SSP has long maintained, ‘would place a premium on quality food in stylish surroundings.’
