Sharm is also often referred to as the, ‘City of Peace’, due to the large number of international peace conferences held there.

SSP is the exclusive food and beverage operator at both of Sham el-Sheikh’s terminals, serving local and international travellers from a diverse range of countries, including a large percentage from Russia. The wide range of food and beverage products available includes distinguished international brands such as Sbarro, Segafredo, Upper Crust, Burger King and Caffè Ritazza.  Other brands on offer indlude Café Select, Bill Bentley, Point, Negroni, Gino’s Pizza, Flammen Grill, Sweet Delight, Mama Leone, Newsbar and Sportbar.

The continued growth in popularity of Sharm el-Sheikh as a tourist destination has meant that passenger numbers which are now in the region of 8 million are beginning to outstrip the capacity of the airport. Expansion of the airport is underway, with plans to build a third new terminal, which will double the airport’s capacity to 15 million passengers per year.
