John F Kennedy International Airport
The door to the Big Apple
Opening in May 2010, at a cost of $1.4 billion, JFK Terminal 4 is the cornerstone of a $10.3 billion revitalisation program currently underway at the airport. T4 is one of the largest terminals in the whole of North America and serves some 50 airlines from 40 countries and is capable of handling 12 million passengers a year.
The terminal’s food and beverage offerings, operated exclusively by SSP, underwent a $14 million, 18-month renovation and expansion in 2009. In the landside area there is a 14,688 square feet food court. The food court’s arrivals hall location makes it a convenient dining option for all nine million consumers who pass through the terminal annually, and it is the only offer at JFK International Airport available 24/7. It surrounds a stylish seating area developed by SSP during the renovation.
Making its first appearance at an airport, the Palm Bar & Grille can be found just prior to security. Its strategic position provides passengers the opportunity to meet with family and friends for a pre-flight meal. It also offers business travellers a relaxing respite before their flight, while the private dining room is the perfect venue for business meetings.
A menu of classic American steak-house cuisine includes New York strip cut from aged prime beef, grilled Nova Scotia lobster tails with drawn butter and lemon, and the highly acclaimed ‘Mother’s Cheesecake’.
With one location pre-security and two locations post-security, JFK T4 also features the nationally famous Peet’s Coffee & Tea, offering a superior range of the highest quality coffees and teas, cultivated from around the world.
Additional post-security dining options include: eco-friendly Zpizza, whose pizzas are made using organic wheat dough; and Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar with its uniquely American, award-winning wings, choice of sauces, wraps, sandwiches, ribs and burgers.
Other brands operated at the terminal include Caviar House & Prunier, Upper Crust and Panopolis and the sports bar Stadium Club which opened in the summer of 2011.
