Caffè Ritazza
Specifically tailored for the travel environment, Caffè Ritazza has over 150 outlets, operating in 24 countries across the world. Known for its traditional Italian espresso, its style, and freshly prepared food, Caffè Ritazza offers passengers a tranquil escape in an inviting and modern setting.
The brand can be tailored to meet the specific needs of customers at different locations - with an emphasis on speed of service and a range of easy-to-carry-products in rail locations, or the provision of seating areas that allow travellers to relax in a more restful environment at airports. The brand embraces local tastes and culture and carefully adapts its coffee and foods as well as the environment in which they are served to suit the needs of the local customer.
Caffè Ritazza uses only the finest coffees from around the globe and all beans are hand-picked and sorted for premium quality. Every Caffè Ritazza espresso bar uses traditional Italian Espresso machines to meet exacting quality standards in producing perfect espresso and cappuccinos every time. Top quality coffee grinders guarantee the perfect grind for each coffee. The launch in 2010 of Caffè Ritazza’s Art of Great Coffee initiative and the introduction of innovative new products such as the afternoon range (which showcased a number of iconic coffee drinks from around the world), is evidence of the brand’s expertise in coffee and its commitment to celebrating the skill of the barista.
The highest standards of training are a key feature of the brand. Each Caffè Ritazza outlet employs a Senior Barista to oversee the art of coffee making and only trained baristas prepare coffee for customers. Caffè Ritazza’s head baristas are steeped in Italian coffee culture, and taught the authentic traditional art of Italian espresso making in Bologna, Italy. A stringent examination ensures that only the most talented qualify for the role of Head Barista.
Every year, SSP’s most gifted baristas compete in the company’s World Barista Championship. This highly competitive event allows those at the very height of their profession to demonstrate their skills, as well as share expertise with colleagues from across the world. The competition is adjudicated to the exacting standards of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) and the judging panel includes external association judges, as well as experts from within the company, two of whom are themselves qualified SCAE judges.
Caffè Ritazza also serves quality food which places considerable emphasis on the freshness of its ingredients. The food range includes sandwiches such as ciabbatas, paninis or mezzalunas through to a range of seasonal salads.
