SSP wins new contract at Suvarnabhumi

SSP News Release 14-March-2011

SSP Thailand has clinched a five-year £9.5 million deal to operate four new outlets at Suvarnabhumi International airport. The outlets are situated in the food court area of the domestic terminal, which serves up to one million passengers every month. They are scheduled to open during the first week of April 2011.

SSP currently already operates a Burger King at the food court. This will be joined by a second Pizza Company outlet – a brand which is already popular with passengers at the airport’s International terminal. There will also be a Bill Bentley pub, which has a similarly successful track record at the country’s Phuket International Airport.

SSP will also be introducing fast-food stalwart Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits as it makes its first foray into the Thai market, together with leading Japanese noodle brand Yamagoya. With 200 outlets across Asia, this brand is already a firm favourite in Thailand.

SSP Thailand general manager Vorarat Charoonsmith said; ‘This win is strategically important to us it will significantly increase our business at our largest operation in Thailand. With a strong local team and an impressive brand line-up, I’m confident that this new operation will be both well received by passengers and a commercial success.’

The new venture will create 30 full time, and between 30 to 40 part-time jobs.
