Boarding now at T1

SOME of the world's top retail brands are making Sydney's swank new international airport terminal's shopping precinct (T1) their home to the exclusion of other outlets in the city and elsewhere in Australia

All wide avenues, shiny floors and illars and sparkling glass, the new retail and eating facilities at T1 bring a new and welcome dimension not only to shopping, but also to passing the time when flights are delayed.

Among the brands that are exclusive to T1 are:

Top-notch stuff

- The Wiggles store, with all the merchandise that would calm a travel-weary child, including toys and games, homewares, books, stationary and clothing.

- The Lonely Planet Store, where all the last-minute travel needs of the world's adventurers can be met. While Lonely Planet books can be bought at book shops, this is the only store that stocks Lonely Planet merchandise exclusively.

- The Godiva store, which has the largest range of the world-famous Belgian chocolates in Australia - far more than can be bought at any department store.

- Montreux Jazz Cafe, the first time this European institution of fine food and wine has opened up in a location outside Switzerland.

- The Caviar House Prunier Seafood Bar, which has made a name in Europe and North America as one of the best purveryors of gourmet food in the world.
