Airport eatery finally cleared for take off

Danks Street Depot opens on Monday at Sydney International Airport, three months behind its scheduled take-off. But surely delays are part and parcel of air travel. Situated near the check-in area, Danks Street offers a chance to fill up before the inflight food hits your tray. Owner Jared Ingersoll has transported several menu favourites from his Waterloo original but the chef says opening during the busy Christmas period has forced him to keep things simple. "We'll start with counter service and introduce table service after summer. And I'm avoiding too much pan cooking in the beginning, although there will be a pan-roasted kingfish dish."  The other good news for travellers is there will be a takeaway menu.
